We all know how important daily exercise is. But, what if you don't have time to go on a hike or hit the gym for your favorite class? Well, walking is just as good. In fact, it's not uncommon for people to have a Fitbit or another step-tracker app to track their daily steps. So, on days you can't get your high intensity cardio workout in, try to meet your step goal. Here are five easy ways to help you do just that.

 1. Say no to the elevator

Taking the stairs is an incredibly easy way to burn more calories throughout the day. Whether you're at work and need to make it up to the 5th floor for a meeting or you parked on the 6th floor of the parking garage, take the stairs! If the floor number seems like it's too much, you could try taking the elevator halfway up and then take the stairs the rest of the way. You'll thank us later.

2. Walk around while you're on the phone

On a conference call? Gossiping with your girlfriends on the phone? Walk and talk, bold babes! Ditch your chair for a few minutes. We promise you'll survive.

3. Park far away from your destination

Next time you have to go to the grocery store or out to eat, park your car far enough away to where you can get a short walk in. This is a really easy way to get more exercise in throughout the day and, in turn, burn more calories.

4. Um... get a dog!

When you get a new dog, part of your dog parent responsibility is walking that dog. By walking your new friend, you'll also be increasing your daily caloric burn.

5. Binge watch on the move

This one might be a little hard... but worth it? Invest in a treadmill and use it every time you're about to start a TV show binge. This is the guilt-free way to watch your favorite shows.
